Astra Sonora is harmonic ear training on real recordings. It is made and run by one person, with no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. This page says which data the app keeps, why, and where.

Playing without an account
You can play without signing in. Your progress is then saved only in your browser (its local storage) and is never sent to us. Clearing the browser's site data deletes it.
With an account
When you create an account or sign in, the app keeps:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in links and to recognise you. If you sign in with Google, Google also passes on your name and profile picture address; the app does not use them.
- Your progress: the songs you have charted, which chords you answered correctly or not, your settings, and when you last played.
- Error reports you choose to send about a song, with your note.
- The time you first saw the sunrise, the game's ending, so that the app can tell you how many players saw it before you.
This data is used only to run the app for you. It is not sold, shared for marketing, or used to build profiles. While you are signed in, your browser keeps a sign-in token in its local storage; the app sets no cookies.
Services that process data for the app
- Supabase stores accounts and progress, in a data centre in the United States (Oregon).
- Cloudflare hosts the app and the music and delivers them through its worldwide network. Like any web server, it handles your IP address and technical request data to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
- Resend (United States) sends the sign-in emails.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google, under Google's own privacy policy.
Some of this data is therefore processed in the United States. These transfers rely on the Swiss–U.S. and EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the standard contractual clauses approved for such transfers.
How long data is kept
Account data is kept as long as your account exists. When you ask for your account to be deleted, your email address, progress, error reports and sunrise time are deleted within 30 days. Technical logs at the providers above are kept for a short time only, as their own policies describe.
Your rights
You can ask at any time which data the app holds about you, have it corrected, receive a copy, or have your account and its data deleted: write to [email protected] from the address of your account. If you think your data is handled wrongly, you can also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how your data is used will be announced in the app.
